Christmas Makeup Goodies

I hope you all had a merry and blessed Christmas! I loved being able to spend time with my family and loved ones. I got a lot of makeup for Christmas, and I wanted to share with you some of the stuff I was most excited about.

I got this Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette in Medium to Dark (Retail: $8.99, Walgreens. It was a gift from my dad).

It's a powder contour kit containing: a darker contour shade (which has a reddish tone to it, but it's very pretty), a sculpt shade (meant to be close to your skintone), and a really pretty golden bronze highlight shade (which was my main reason for buying the palette).

I used the contour shade to set my cream contour, the sculpt shade over my highlighted area (as a skintone powder. I applied it over where I used my Sacha Cosmetics Buttercup Loose Setting Powder), and then my highlight shade (on my cheekbones, nose, and chin). I think the kit is a really good buy, and for $8.99 it's def worth checking out if you can get your hands on it. The palette also comes in Light-Medium, so keep an eye out!

I also got this Heart Love Blusher Palette by Beauty Treats (Retail: $4.99, Burlington Coat Factory).

I was kind of skeptical about it at first, but I used the second shade from the left on the bottom yesterday...and it was really pretty (and super pigmented). The palette has 10 powder blushes, in shades that will look poppin' on women of color. Also, the fact that the pans are shaped like hearts?! ADORBS.

I got a couple of new goodies by NYX Cosmetics, like their Born to Glow Illumnator in a new shade called "Pure Gold." This looks like its going to be a really popping illuminator. I also got their Butter Gloss in a new shade called "Black Berry Pie." I had swatched it when I was shopping in Ulta the other day, and it's a nice jet black color. I also got a Butter Gloss in a old shade called "Fortune Cookie." It's really pretty, although I think it looks better when paired with my fave nude lipstick (Bare It All from Wet N Wild). On it's own, the gloss allllllmost fairs a little chalky on me.

My parents also gave me this Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer (it's a matte liquid lipstick, and the color is called Depravity),  from a brand called Makeup Revolution London. I'm unfamiliar with them, but the brand is sold at Ulta.

I got some goodies by Black Opal Beauty! I'm new to their products, but I have seen a lot of my fave YouTubers (like Jackie Aina and AshleyDBeauty) use them. I got their True Color Stick Foundation in "Black Walnut" (it has SPF 15!) which I plan on using as a cream contour product. I tried it yesterday, and I liked it. For some reason I thought it might have been too dark, but it wound up working rather nicely. I just needed to use a little less, but I'll get the hang of it. I'm still working on my contouring skills.

I also got Black Opal's Total Coverage Concealing Foundation in Truly Topaz, which I tried using as my highlight shade. I think I might need a lighter shade though, as Truly Topaz is a little too close to my skin tone (I've color matched myself to Nutmeg in their face products, via my sisters samples).

My cousin gave me a bunch of Elf Eyeshadow Duos, in some really pretty shades (Thanks Seun! I'ma make that tutorial soon). She gave me: Oreo, Key Lime, Cinnamon, Boysenberry, and Blueberry (Pictured L-R).

I'm excited to play with these products some more, and create some looks. Thanks to my family and friends for the goodies, but the best present that you gave me was your presence.
