Seven Days of Style: Day Two

Sorry that tip two is a day late, but let's make today a two-fer!

Tip Two is: Know where to buy what.

This rule is directly related to rule one, because when you're looking to buy the best quality that you can afford....you need to figure out where to buy those items. For instance, a $200 pair of jeans from Nordstrom is wayyyy out of my budget. I'm talking so far out that it's astronomical LOL. I can't afford to spend that much on one pair of jeans, when I still have other things that I know I'll need to buy. I do know however that I can find cheaper good quality jeans at Marshall's, TJMaxx, or H&M for between $20-$40. At H&M they even have a conscious initiative, where if you bring in a bag of unwanted clothes you can get a coupon for 15% off your entire purchase (including sale items).

I'm all for investing in pieces that you know that you'll get a lot of wear out of (like winter coats, shoes, etc), but make sure that you invest in a way that makes sense for your budget. If a $200 winter coat is way out of your budget, it's way out of your budget regardless if you wear it 5 times or 50 times. Ideally you want to set a budget, and allocate more funds from said budget toward items you know you'll get the most wear out of.

Shopping around is key, and it's always a good idea to check around online to find the best deal on the stuff that you're looking for. Also, figure out what your go-to stores are for good quality affordable items (mine include TJMaxx, Marshall's, and H&M). Make sure that you're following the stores you normally shop at on social media, and that you're on their email lists so that you can get all the deets on deals and sales.
