Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara Review

Ciao Bellas,
I'm a huge fan of drugstore mascara's, and my brand of choice is always Maybelline. While I loved Stiletto Lash, it's not waterproof which isn't the best thing for beauties with allergies. On the hunt for a new waterproof mascara, I made my way over to Ulta a bit ago and I came across Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express Mascara in the waterproof formula (I'm pretty sure it was about $6.99, but it isn't on the site for some reason. I'd imagine that it's available instore at other places like Walmart, Target, CVS, etc. It has like a teal color on it, in place of the purple that the regular packaging has). I'd had a good experience with the regular formula back in the day, so I figured that I'd give this a whirl. I must say that this has definitely earned the title of my summertime go to mascara (while I do love it, y'all know I have mascara commitment issues...so we'll have to see about that year round bit). It has a big brush (which is often frowned upon, as the bigger the brush the easier it is to smudge on your lid. This does happen to me if I'm not careful, but it's not that big of a deal in my opinion as it's fixable), but it's pretty well defined. I'm that girl that layers on the mascara on a daily basis (at least 3 coats on my upper lashes, and extra coats on the outer lashes), and it's seriously never ever clumped. There's definitely some lengthening action (though I have somewhat long lashes as it is, so it's not like BAM), a good amount of volume, it catches and defines my lashes pretty well (which sort of reminds me of MAC's Dazzle Lash Mascara), and apparently the formula also contains collagen for lash plumping action (as far as curling action goes, I can't comment. My lashes are incredibly curly all on their own). Did I mention no clumping? I'm pretty stuck on that aspect, because it really annoys me when certain mascara's boast no clumping whatsoever, then you put it on and look like her royal clumpness. Not cute. So in short, if your looking for a new waterproof mascara check this bad boy out. I'd say it's definitely worth the $6.99.

Stylishly Yours,
Ms. Fab
